At Little Olive Tree, we believe that every child is uniquely created in God’s image, each with their own gifts, interests, and potential. To celebrate this, we hosted Be You-nique Day, a special event designed to help children embrace their identity, recognize their intrinsic value, and appreciate the beauty of diversity.
Understanding Identity and Self-Worth
Children were encouraged to reflect on their personal identity, recognizing their abilities, qualities, and aspirations. Thinking routines such as See-Think-Wonder allowed them to observe and discuss similarities and differences among themselves. To bring these concepts to life, we organized a special dress-up event where children came dressed as their favorite professions. From doctors and teachers to firefighters and artists, their choices reflected their dreams and aspirations. This activity reinforced the understanding that each child has a unique purpose and limitless potential.
The Heart of the Message: Treating Others with Love and Respect

Beyond self-discovery, this learning experience also emphasized treating others with kindness and respect. By understanding that everyone is created in God’s image, children learned the importance of valuing and appreciating their friends, fostering empathy and inclusivity.
Our theme, “In His Image,” served as a reminder that every child is wonderfully made, with a special purpose and place in the world. Through these activities, we hope to continue nurturing confidence, compassion, and curiosity in our children, empowering them to grow into individuals who embrace both their own uniqueness and that of others.
