Children's Day baking fun with SPS Baey Yam Keng!

Updated: Apr 25

One thing that brings a smile to the faces of both children and adults alike would definitely be carnivals! For children's day this year, Tampines Centre was treated to just that - a Children's Day Carnival with games, food, activities, and basically all things fun.

To start off the morning, children had a blast with their friends and teachers outdoors, trying their hand at exciting games like toss the ring and tumbling cups. They were also thrilled to play circle games and chase after bubbles on the field!

The highlight of the day was a baking workshop conducted by Tampines North RN volunteers, along with MP for Tampines GRC, SPS Baey Yam Keng! The children were not afraid to get messy, using ingredients such as chocolate and cornflakes to make their very own cookies. Afterwards, SPS Baey also gave out goodie bags to the children, which they received with glee. Jenny Lim, Tampines Centre Leader shared, "We were all excited to collaborate with Tampines North RN, especially after 3 years of Covid-19 SMM. It was heartening to see how the children and volunteers enjoyed themselves. I believe what matters most were the interactions, not the gifts!"

After a comfy afternoon nap, the cool and wet weather did not dampen their spirits. In fact, it was perfect for a cosy picnic indoors in the afternoon to end off the day. The children truly had a great time enjoying the wonderful Carnival planned by their teachers!
