At Little Olive Tree, we believe in the joy of hands-on learning, and our visit to Hay Dairies Goat Farm was a wonderful way for children and parents to experience farm life together!
A Morning of Exploration
Excitement was in the air as our children, along with some parents, arrived for the 9 AM session. The visit kicked off with an engaging introduction to goats and their milk, where everyone learned how goatās milk differs from cowās milk and its nutritional benefits. Parents enjoyed seeing their little ones ask questions and absorb new knowledge, making the experience both fun and enriching.
Witnessing the Milking Process
One of the highlights of the trip was watching the goats being milked. The children and parents observed the careful and hygienic milking techniques, gaining a deeper understanding of where fresh milk comes from. The farm raises mountain goats from birth to old age, and it was heartening to learn that Hay Dairies prioritizes ethical animal care by not selling their goats for butchery.
Feeding the Goats: A Hands-On Experience
The excitement continued at the feeding section, where each child received a packet of hay. The goats eagerly nibbled at the hay, and for many children, this was their first experience interacting with farm animals up close. Parents also joined in, sharing in the joy and laughter as their children discovered the simple delight of feeding a friendly goat.

A Tasty Treat to Take Home
To wrap up the visit, each child received a bottle of fresh goat milk. This small but meaningful takeaway helped them connect what they had learned to real-life experiences, reinforcing the importance of fresh and natural food sources. Some parents also picked up extra bottles to bring home and enjoy with their families.
A Memorable Learning Journey
This visit was more than just an educational outingāit was a time of shared experiences, curiosity, and connection. Seeing children overcome their initial hesitation around animals, engage with the learning process, and create memories with their parents made this journey truly special.

A big thank you to Hay Dairies Goat Farm for hosting us and to the parents who joined in to make this day even more meaningful! We look forward to many more opportunities to explore, learn, and grow together.
